Solid Tumours and HaematologyCancers are divided into:
Solid tumour (e.g. breast, colon and prostate cancer)
Haematological cancers (e.g. leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma) which originate from, and are carried by, blood cells
Typically, a solid tumour cancer that is detected early in its progression and has not spread to other organs and tissues will have the best prognosis. In this case, surgical removal of the tumour in combination with chemotherapy may be effective. In contrast, cancer that is detected at a later stage may be more difficult or impossible to cure. Typically, haematology treatments are intensive but shorter than oncology treatments. They are generally chemotherapy based although radiotherapy is occasionally used.Useful links : Products and Projects - Belinostat
